My name is Amelia and I am the owner of The Editing Shop.
I help businesses and individuals turn original text and translations into targeted and accurate copy designed for different English-speaking audiences.
Business is global, and that gives us all amazing opportunities to scale and grow. It doesn't matter what your product or service is, chances are you're marketing it in more than one country. More clients and customers? Yes please!
But appealing to everyone, everywhere, can be a challenge. And that's where I step in.
Whether you're having your content translated and need it to read fluently in English, or you're changing existing copy to target new readers in different countries, I can help you navigate the linguistic waters and be properly understood.
Because it all comes down to having your readers understand you. It's as simple as that. You might design your content to be persuasive, informative, or ground-breaking, but if your audience don't understand you none of that matters.
After reading linguistics at university I spent several years working in-house for international publishing and translation companies, editing original and translated content to make it suitable for publishing in different markets and locales.
I learned a lot and found my passion in these roles, and also discovered that I'm really not made for corporate life! I launched The Editing Shop and I now spend my days helping businesses and individuals communicate using language their target readers will understand.
I provide three services:
- Copy editing content authored by non-native English speakers
- Reviewing translations into English
- Localising content for different English-speaking locales
Head on over to my work with me page to find out how I can help you reach new audiences using clear, fluent language specifically designed to communicate your message to English speakers everywhere.
I am passionate about helping entrepreneurs escape the 9-5 and build amazing businesses, and I believe that success is built on great communication. I publish The Editing Shop Blog, where I talk about everything from language tips to business advice. Head on over and don't forget to leave a comment!
